Hop/trub filtering idea

So one of our more annoying problems is trub. The trub cap on the autosiphon
helps to some degree, but we have been losing a pint of wort easily to trub,
and then again to sediment. The steel wool around the trub cap trick seemed
to be ineffective. But then I saw this:
