Hop/trub filtering idea

I don't like the idea too much. Losing under a quart of liquid to hop
detritus isn't a big deal (brewtarget with the 8gal pot profile even
assumes you lose a quart from the kettle to fermenter), and this would
present a few complications (e.g. how do you deal with the first
boilover being unable to stir). And then ... is it really a good idea to
boil a plastic fiber mesh bag for an hour?

We should probably focus more on not losing liquid to the fermenter trub
first. Any extra debris that comes from the kettle settles out nicely
into compact layer at the bottom, and the yeast then flocculate as a
pretty stiff cake on top of that so ... filtering should be easier there
since the debris are solid.

I've seen recommendations for using a bit of nylon hose over the cap of
the siphon when racking from primary, and I intend to use that for the
IPA. Hopefully that will work sufficiently and no gadgets will need to
be built.
