REPORTS TO: Managing Director
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: 
Manager of a growing IT department that is
responsible for the ongoing maintenance, growth of a 100+ seat Mac OS X
network backed by approximately 8 servers running OS X and Debian Linux.
Current team includes a full-time desktop support specialist and programmer.
This position is responsible for overall management of the network and 
the team
project management and employee management.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain and continue development of the organizational operations
database
• Maintain MNN's 100+ seat Mac OS X based network
• Server maintenance of 8 OS X and Debian Linux servers running these
services: postfix, imapd, dns, dhcp, afp, iptables, apache, cyrusimap,
Squirrelmail, SpamAssassin, PostgreSQL.
• Develop and coordinate intranet capabilities including fileshares,
calendaring, wikis, etc.
• Develop and coordinate web site and related services for mnn.org and
youthchannel.org
• Develop and coordinate training for staff in IT-related areas
• Work closely with managerial team to develop & implement IT-related
priorities

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Articulate self-starter and problem solver able to work in a demanding
public-facing organization
• Strong analytics skills
• Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative, rapidly evolving
environment
• Employee management skills, tracking budgets, etc.
• Excellent Organizational and project management skills
• Strong knowledge of Max OS X and Linux
• Demonstrated experience in database developing and administration
(MySQL, Postgres)
• Experience with Drupal CMS and Web 2.0 community-building is desirable
• Experience with online audio and video (encoding, transcoding, FFMPEG,
QuickTime/Darwin Streaming Server, Flash Media Server, Flash Video) a
huge plus!
• Working knowledge of computer programming
