I'd still like to see that you mention (in some way) the ability to 
browse AFS from your local computer.

Maybe you don't realize we offer this, but you can take an OpenAFS
client, install it on your own workstation, and access files in 
/afs/hcoop.net/... as if they were a local directory on your system.
