I try to use it, but AFS is terrible over high-latency links, like the
one under the pacific to Aus. It takes about 10 times as long to
upload with cp to afs than with scp to mire.

And I'd like to mention it in the poster, but I don't think it's very
important. Word count should be kept low. The few people who know what
OpenAFS is will get the message, but most are only interested in
scp/ftp.
