There seem to a lot of little minor annoyances in the jabber server right
now. What I think would probably be best is to be ready to merge over the
existing database, but then to try OpenFire and see if we like it more. I
have a feeling that most people will be happier with OpenFire, but it is
impossible to know at the moment without more discussion of problems and
benefits.
One thing I like about OpenFire is the updating process, the configuration
and management, and the documentation. I don't know how ejabberd works,
but it is also possible to easily expand OpenFire through plugins.
