[HCoop-Discuss] Looking for new colo providers

Hi everyone,

As you probably know, we are looking for new colo providers, mainly
providing cheaper hosting and more service (and in a less expensive
area) than our current hosting.

While we use HCoop in part to avoid getting our own hosting, some of
us may know of hosting providers which could fit our needs. If you
do, could you pass that knowledge on to us?

Factors to consider are:
- 1/4 cabinet
- ~30 IPs (/27 subnet)
- 500GB - 1 TB bandwidth per month
- simple service, like pushing a power button, doesn't cost insane
OR
- VPS / dedicated server hosting (it will cost more, but it can't hurt
to get some quotes in case the simplicity is worth the price)

Preferable:
- We can ship servers to them and they will plug them in enough where
  we can take over
- Somewhere close to where many members are is good, but not required
(especially if the above point is satisfied)

Here are the old pages dealing with colocation selection, for
reference. Some of these may be good to look at again.

I would propose that we start collecting new colo (or other hosting)
posibilities at here:

If you have thoughts or ideas, please fill out the new page with info...

Thanks,

- Richard
