Dude, are you reading my emails?  We have no control whatsoever over what
source we buy power from, because that is up to Peer1.  Power is part of
our bundle of services in our colocation agreement.

Actually, it may not even be up to Peer1, for all I know all I know all
the tenants at 75 Broad may get power with their own leases.  Renewable
energy credits are the _only way_ we can buy wind power.  It's not unusual
either, thousands of other large businesses do the same thing.  Ever buy a
carton of Silk soymilk?  White Wave foods offsets their power consumption
with wind power credits too, and prints up an explanation of the process
on every box.  The effect is the same.  Even if we did "directly" buy
renewable energy from a local utility (ConEdison here), it's not like they
would run a new line from our server directly to a wind turbine upstate. 
Either way all it means is that there's a contract to put more wind power
on the grid somewhere.
