[Nestedvm] Problem compiling mips->jbc

I built a "hello, world" executable with a *native* linux mips compiler 
(gcc 3.3.6).  It runs fine on the mips machine, but when I try to run 
the NestedVM compiler on it, I get this:

Compiler Error: Unknown section: .interp

Ideas?  I can provide a copy of the executable if it helps.
