The 'amber crystal' malt I determined to refer to an amber-colored (40-60L) crystal malt rather than amber malt, because amber malt is not actually a crystal malt. The recipe calls for 1.5oz Fuggles, but only uses 0.5oz, so I added another 0.5oz/5gals at 15 mins. to bring the IBUs up to something approaching an ESB. And then because it wasn't quite as potent as I think it ought to be, I kicked up the mash to 153F for a little extra body and then added some Demerera to dry it out and boost the ABV. Excited to try this out!
