The '?'s are a known issue, and basically it means your process
lost the AFS token.

The problem is caused by a combination of the kernel and OpenAFS
version. We run a high-enough 2.6 kernel version, but we still need
to upgrade to OpenAFS 1.4.12 to solve that problem.

But, short term, whenever you see that happen, you can type 'aklog'
to get a new token.
