Note that this is happening with your own machine, not hcoop's
machines.

We run libnss-ptdb on our machines, which is why this doesn't happen
on, say, mire or deleuze.  Your machine is confused because it thinks
your AFS userid is the same as the UNIX userid on your local machine
(which it is not).
