As the message talks about a retry time-out being exceeded, it is in 
reference to messages sent a considerable time ago.  They'll keep coming 
for all of the messages sent from when the problem first appeared to 
when you removed the forwarding configuration, unless someone flushes a 
mail queue somewhere.
