Thanks for all of the work on AFS and the associated workarounds.
It seems to me, from the traffic on this list and the sysadmin
list, that implementation of afs has pushed out the switchover to
the new server at the expensive provider.  That has had a cost.

Going forward, I suspect the afs server implementation will
require dedicated/paid sysadmins for maintenance and may require
moving to Transarc commercial afs server software.  Most of the
AFS installations I know use Transarc/IBM server and openafs
clients.

But AFS is a mind expanding file system, and everything for hcoop
will be good.  We will be successful as long as we adhere to
pay-as-you-go financing, accrual accounting, and avoid any
appearance of ponzi or multilevel marketing finance.
