Hi guile-emacs,

Just to make you aware, I started a guile-dmenu package that is still
bare-bones but works on wayland (with guile-fibers, so independent event
loops are already there, yay!).

I intend to try and also provide a completing-read procedure that is as
close as I can achieve to the completing-read from Emacs.  In case that
might help on the journey ;)
