Hi Ganimede,
Yes, it's necessary to build both Bond and BondDB. BondDB is the database
abstraction layer, which does the actual communication with Postgres; there
is also rudimentary support for other RDBMSs, but AFAIK there hasn't been
much work on these for a while.
