[Bond-users] Can't compile bonddb

Do you have any idea why it is quoting everything? It should look like this
gcc -o bondcommon/bc.os -c -DUNIX -g -Wall -DMEM_TEST -fPIC 
-I/usr/include/glib-2.0 -I/usr/lib/glib-2.0/include bondcommon/bc.c

What verison of python? I'm running 2.4.4
