I already track the progress for bond and other software. To standardize
on the revision control software, I have my own system which checks for
updates in various repositories and "imports" them into my 'git'
repository.

During the daily process, I get a report with commit messages and diffs.
Very useful stuff and really the only way I can both receive upstream
updates and work on patches, and "buffer" them until they get included
in the official distribution.
