BBC:
Soldiers and military families were among an estimated 5,000 protesters in London demonstrating against UK military operations in Afghanistan.
The Stop the War Coalition says it was the first march against the Afghan war since the conflict began in 2001. [I don’t think this is really true.--Fk.]
L/Cpl Joe Glenton, of York, who faces a court martial for refusing to return to Afghanistan, led the protest march.
Sky News:
A British soldier has broken military law by leading a march through London calling for the UK's troops to be brought home from Afghanistan.
Police said "around 5,000" people took part in the demonstration from Hyde Park to Trafalgar Square, while a spokesman for organisers Stop The War Coalition put the figure at 10,000.
