There's a Windows build of an excellent Free GUI IRC program called X-Chat:

http://www.xchat-wdk.org/

I highly recommend it over mIRC; it's free to use, and it's Free software.
Can anyone help me get connected to the HCoop IRC channel? I've never
done IRC or freenode before and it doesn't seem particularly
non-techie user-friendly. I found this page
(http://www.irchelp.org/irchelp/new2irc.html), which indicates that I
should download mIRC (yes I am using Windows, please don't judge me).
Now its telling me I have to pay $20. Is this right? Thank you.
