Hello all,

I mean the following email in no offense, and is just my perspective...

IIRC, you (Adam M) were the one who set us up with AFS to begin with,
right? And, to my knowledge, are the only one of our 137 members so far
that has any substantial knowledge of AFS; enough to admin it, that is.
(Or you are the only one who has made your knowledge of AFS at an admin
level public)...

I constantly see you defending AFS, meanwhile, we are having problems
administering it; Adam C. / the coop has cried for volunteer admins to
help with AFS and no one has, which means, in my opinion: I believe
it's time to step away from AFS until we can find someone willing to
dedicate their time to admining it (or whatever networked filesystem we
choose).

What this means for you is either: "Put up or shut up". If you aren't
willing / unable to donate your time (which is fine, again, I mean this
in no offense) or find someone who will help with it, don't complain so
much about the proposal of removing AFS.

I wish I could think of an applicable real world example for this, but
I can't. It's just kind of annoying to see someone defend the system,
but not offer to help with it at all, meanwhile complain while someone
else wants to take it away (when that first person is in fact, as noted
above, the only person with at least partial abilities to do the admin
work).

Not trying to get on anyones' nerves or push anyones' buttons, I'm just
simply stating how I see things as a coop user and list reader.
So the margin is 7 out of 137 members. Gee whiz.

That would involve acknowledging the conclusion as credible enough to
warrant response :)
A more rational conclusion would be that a margin of 7 out of 137
members means this issue is so technical that polls will not help
resolve it.
